Location and Directions

Fort Sill is in southwestern Oklahoma, just north of Lawton and about 90 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. The installation is near Interstate 44 and can be reached from the Lawton area.

Check current gate and access information before traveling. Gate rules may change because of construction, training, holidays, or security needs.

Visitor Information

The Visitor Welcome Center is just south of Bentley Gate on Sheridan Road. It is open Monday through Sunday from 0700 to 1700. Adults without a DoD-approved identification card generally need an installation access pass and must show a REAL ID-compliant identification document or a valid secondary government-issued photo ID. Visitors can preregister online, and the center advises requesting passes at least 24 hours before arrival. Confirm current access rules before traveling.

Housing and Lodging

The Housing Division is on the third floor of the Welcome Center, Building 4700, and is open Monday through Friday from 0730 to 1600. Call 520-715-0011 or 520-714-9849. Fort Sill Lodging, also called IHG Army Hotels, is at 5676 Ferguson Road and is open 24 hours a day. Call 580-442-5000 or 877-902-3607. Check-in is at the Holiday Inn Express, Aultman Hall. Single Soldiers in grades E-1 through E-5 generally live in barracks, subject to exceptions and current policies.

Facilities and Services

Fort Sill has Army Community Service, ID card and DEERS services, legal assistance, religious support, family support, the Visitor Welcome Center, USO Oklahoma, emergency services, and Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs.

The Harry S. Truman Education Center is at 3281 Koehler Loop. It is open Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1600. Call 580-442-3201. The Military Police desk can be reached at 580-442-2103.

Schools and Childcare

On-post child care is available through Army Child Development Centers for children from 6 weeks through 5 years old. Tincher Child Development Center is at 4122 Liberty Road, Building 4122, and is open Monday through Friday from 0530 to 1730. Call 580-442-2320. Child and Youth Services provides school support, youth sponsorship, school-age care, and other education resources. School Age Centers provide after-hours care for eligible children in grades 1 through 5.

Medical Services

Reynolds Army Health Clinic provides outpatient care for eligible beneficiaries. Services include primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, women's health, immunizations, behavioral health, laboratory work, radiology, optometry, pharmacy, dental care, physical therapy, public health, and Exceptional Family Member Program support.

Recreation and Amenities

Fort Sill MWR programs include golf, horseback riding, bowling, arts and crafts, automotive care, trap and skeet shooting, outdoor recreation, dining, entertainment, discount tickets, and equipment rentals. Outdoor recreation includes Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area.

The installation also has the Fort Sill Museum, Field Artillery Museum, and Air Defense Artillery Museum.
