MCLB Barstow is in the San Bernardino County high desert near Barstow, California. It sits near the junction of Interstate 15, Interstate 40 and U.S. Route 66. The installation includes the Nebo Main Base, Yermo Annex and rifle and pistol ranges.

From Interstate 15, merge onto Interstate 40 East, take Exit 2, and continue east on Route 66 to the main gate. From Las Vegas, take Interstate 15 south, then East Main Street, Interstate 40 East and the base exit. From the east, take Interstate 40 West to the base exit. Commercial vehicles must use the Nebo entrance route from Interstate 40 at Exit 5 and Nebo Road.

Visitor Information

Visitors must report to the Visitor Center in McTureous Hall, Building 218, at O'Bannon Avenue and Iwo Jima Avenue. Some identification cards marked as not valid for federal purposes may not be accepted for unescorted access or visitor credentials. The Nebo Main Gate and Yermo Main Gate are open 24 hours. Housing and Lodging

The Family Housing Office is in the Community Center, Building 363, on Gloucester Street. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The installation reports 74 government family-housing quarters in the Desert View and Quarters Street areas. Bachelor housing is available for single active-duty service members and geographical bachelors and is controlled by the commands.

Temporary lodging is available to active-duty, reserve and retired personnel, dependents, DoD civilians and retired DoD civilians and dependents. Rooms include single and double options. The RV park has 36 reported spaces with full hookups and laundry facilities.
