The installation is in Twentynine Palms in San Bernardino County, California. State Route 62, also called Twentynine Palms Highway, connects with Interstate 10 and State Route 177. The Main Gate is on Adobe Road. Commercial trucks must use the Main Gate.

The installation has commissary and Marine Corps Exchange services. Marine and Family Programs provide relocation help, deployment support, counseling, and other family services.
