Marine Corps Base Hawaii is on Oahu's windward side, on a 2,951-acre peninsula between Kaneohe Bay and Kailua Bay. The installation has no public transportation directly to the base. Visitors should contact the Visitor Contractor Center before traveling to confirm directions, access steps, and required documents.

Visitor Information

The Visitor Contractor Center, also called the Pass House, is in Building 1637 on G Street at the H-3 entrance. It is open Monday through Friday from 0600 to 1800 and Saturday and Sunday from 0800 to 1400. It is closed on federal holidays and for training on the third Thursday.

The center handles visitor and contractor checks, visitor access credentials, base vehicle registration, and non-resident forms. Some visitors need access through the Defense Biometric Identification System. Call 808-496-2047 before traveling to confirm current identification, vehicle, sponsorship, and background-check rules. Facilities and Services

Marine Corps Community Services Hawaii provides family services, childcare, education, fitness, finance, recreation, food and beverage, and lodging support. Marine and Family Programs is in Building 579 on Reed Road and can be reached at 808-496-7786 or 808-496-8350. Its hours are Monday through Friday from 0730 to 1630.

Installation Personnel Administration Center is in Building 1043. Inbound check-in help is available at 808-496-3197. ID cards and DEERS services are in Building 1044, Room 102. Call 808-496-3346; appointments are required after 1245.

Schools and Childcare

For MCBH Kaneohe Bay housing, the designated public schools are Mokapu Elementary School for Pre-K through grade 6, Kailua Intermediate School for grades 7 and 8, and Kalaheo High School for grades 9 through 12. School assignments are based on the home address, and Hawaii does not offer a general school-choice option.

MCCS Hawaii provides childcare and youth services. Programs include Laulima Child Development Center, Kupulau Child Development Center, School Age Care, and Resource and Referral services. A School Liaison service is also available through MCCS Hawaii.

Medical Services

Recreation and Amenities
