Location and Directions

NAS Sigonella is about 15 kilometers west and 11 kilometers south of Catania, and about 40 kilometers south of Mount Etna. NAS I is on Strada Statale 192, Catania-Enna. NAS II is on Strada Statale 417, Catania-Gela. NAS I has most support services, housing, schools, shopping, medical care, and recreation. NAS II has the runways, operations, and many tenant commands.

Visitor Information

Access to NAS I, NAS II, and housing areas is controlled by the NAS Sigonella Security Department. Visitors should arrange temporary guest or contractor passes with their sponsor or the responsible installation office before arrival. Appropriate identification, sponsorship papers, and installation passes may be required.

Housing and Lodging

The installation also has an Air Terminal, passenger and cargo movement support, and household-goods and relocation support. Both schools are operated by the Department of Defense Education Activity. Child-care registration is handled through MilitaryChildCare.com and installation Child and Youth Programs. Medical Services

U.S. Naval Hospital Sigonella provides care for eligible U.S. military personnel, retirees, bona fide family members, and other covered U.S. personnel supporting NATO organizations. NAS II also has a Flight Line Clinic for active-duty and occupational health care and a Branch Dental Clinic for active-duty dental care.
