Location and Directions

McConnell Air Force Base is in southeast Wichita near South Rock Road. The East Gate is on Kansas Street, off South Rock Road, and is open all day and night. From U.S. Highway 54, take Rock Road south to the East Gate.

From the Kansas Turnpike, take the K-15 exit and go north to 31st Street. Turn east and continue toward the West Gate area. The West Gate is on Salina Road and has limited weekday hours, so check access conditions before traveling.

Visitor Information

The Visitor Control Center is outside the Main Gate on Kansas Street, off Rock Road, in Building 169. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is closed on weekends and holidays. Military family housing is available based on eligibility and availability. The Military Housing Office helps with on-base and off-base housing. The School Liaison Program helps with PreK-12 education, school changes, special education, local school information, and support for military-connected students. It is in Building 337 and can be reached at 316-759-3326, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Child Development Center offers weekly and hourly care for children from 6 weeks through 5 years, subject to availability.
