Location and Directions

Laughlin Air Force Base is near Del Rio and the U.S.-Mexico border. The installation is just off U.S. Highway 90. Del Rio does not have a commercial airport, so travelers may need to arrange transportation from San Antonio International Airport.

The West Gate is open 24 hours for inbound and outbound traffic. The North Gate has limited hours and is open inbound and outbound from 0600 to 1800, Monday through Friday, with additional weekday hours from 1430 to 1730. It is closed on weekends.

Visitor Information

Visitors and contractors should arrange access through the Visitor Control Center in Building 7002. It is open Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1600 and closed on weekends. The center is also closed on federal holidays and Air Education and Training Command resiliency days. Outside its hours, gate guards may help with a temporary pass.
