Location and Directions

JBER is in Anchorage, Alaska, near Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. From the Glenn Highway, the Richardson Gate reaches the Richardson side. The Muldoon Gate is near the JBER hospital, the Boniface Gate reaches major Elmendorf areas, and the Government Hill Gate can be reached from downtown Anchorage. Visitor Information

Visitors must follow current JBER access rules and may need a pass from a Visitor Control Center. The Richardson center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Boniface center is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Richardson and Boniface gates are open 24 hours. The Muldoon Gate is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Government Hill Gate is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Check current access rules before traveling because hours and procedures can change.

Medical Services

JBER Hospital is a Department of Defense–Department of Veterans Affairs joint-venture hospital led by the 673d Medical Group. The hospital provides medical services for the installation. Information about current medical services is available through the JBER medical and emergency services office.

Recreation and Amenities
